The PRIDE Academy
The PRIDE Academy is a secondary special school in London, part of Orchard Hill College Academy Trust, supporting students aged 11 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs to reconnect with education and build towards successful futures.
The PRIDE Academy needed a website that served a wide range of audiences clearly and accessibly, from parents considering the school for their child through to prospective staff, governors and local authority referrers, all while reflecting the warmth and positive ethos of the school itself.
Special school websites carry a particular responsibility. Parents arriving at the site are often navigating a difficult time, and the experience of using the site needs to feel reassuring, clear and human. At the same time, the site must meet the statutory requirements for school websites, covering policies, key information, Ofsted judgements, performance data, admissions and much more.
We built a well-structured, accessible website that organised a significant volume of content across multiple audience groups without ever feeling overwhelming. Dedicated sections for parents, students, admissions and curriculum sit alongside the school’s latest news, events and vacancies, with a warm and approachable tone. The school has since received Outstanding and Good Ofsted ratings, and the website gives that achievement the platform it deserves.
