The Membrane Keyboard Company is a Hampshire-based, family-owned manufacturer and supplier of custom HMI solutions, operating since 1995 and ISO 9001:2015 approved, serving commercial clients across the UK and internationally.
The Membrane Keyboard Company needed a website that communicated the breadth and technical depth of their product range clearly to a commercial and engineering buyer audience, while remaining accessible and easy to navigate.
Manufacturing websites in a specialist technical sector have a particular challenge. The audience knows exactly what they are looking for and will judge the credibility of a supplier largely on how well their digital presence reflects their expertise. The site needed to feel professional and authoritative, presenting a wide product range from flexible membrane keypads and PCB membrane keyboards through to silicone rubber keypads, capacitive touch panels and graphic overlays, without overwhelming the visitor.
We built a clean, well-structured site that made the product range easy to explore, with a clear case studies section giving prospective clients evidence of the quality and variety of work the business delivers. Satisfied customers including Chubb Fire and Security are prominently showcased, and contact details are easy to find throughout.
Product icons and visual identity
With a broad and technically varied product range, The Membrane Keyboard Company needed a set of product icons that made each category immediately recognisable and gave the site a distinctive and consistent visual identity.
Design Image created individual icons for each product in the range, giving every category its own clear visual marker that communicated the product type at a glance. Clean, well-drawn and consistent in style, the icons gave the site personality and navigational clarity without distracting from the technical content. It is a small detail that makes a significant difference to how a technically complex product range is experienced by a first-time visitor.
